Jean Emmons

b. 1953, Huntsville, AL

Living off the coast of Seattle, Washington, Jean Emmons paints extraordinarily naturalistic watercolor botanicals on paper and calfskin vellum. After years of working as an abstract painter, she honed her ability to create luminous, colorful renderings of plants and flowers. These works are in botanical and horticultural collections within the US and the UK. She has held various leadership positions in a number of botanical societies and received a Gold Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society and the Award for Excellence in Botanical Art from the American Society of Botanical Artists.
